The existing website was a maze of inconsistencies, disconnected from Together Credit Union's branding. Navigation was a struggle, leaving users frustrated and disengaged. Our challenge was clear: simplify, unify, and enhance.
User Stories and Flows: We transformed insights from client interviews into detailed user stories and flows, mapping out the customer journey and pinpointing essential functionalities.
Whiteboarding Sessions: Our collaborative sessions were a hot bed of creativity, where we reimagined key design concepts, focusing on making vital information like loan and savings rates easily accessible.
User Stories and Flows: We transformed insights from client interviews into detailed user stories and flows, mapping out the customer journey and pinpointing essential functionalities.
Storyboards: I brought on storyboards to help align with TCU’s goals. Storyboards created a shared understanding, ensuring clarity and cohesion in the redesign’s direction.
In the original site, the design was bulky and unclear, with no solid call to action for users. In the wireframe, I streamlined the design by breaking down the whiteboarding session and enhancing it. The navigation now shows fewer links with a clear call to action, and there is a distinct designation of categories throughout the rest of the site. This redesign has already improved the site's usability and visual appeal, making it more intuitive for users.
While I created many wireframes, the careers page stood out with its unique approach and new components. TCU's original careers page was just a single hyperlink leading off-site. My redesign includes a featured comparison section for open roles and highlights what it's like to work there. I took inspiration from major banks, using proven UX principles to build a more engaging and informative page.
Storyboarding was a new and unique addition to SilverTech, something I introduced to the team. We combined user stories, user flows, and wireframes to visually showcase the user journey through the site for each persona. This helped TCU staff better understand the site’s layout and gain a clearer perspective on the user journey.
Our project concluded with a detailed handoff to the development team and client, including a comprehensive "Widget Guide" detailing specifications and optimal uses for all components. This guide ensured a smooth transition from design to development.
The integration of user stories, flows, and storyboards into our design process not only enriched the project’s strategic alignment but also led to significant operational efficiencies, saving Together Credit Union 60 billable hours. Post-launch, we anticipate:
These improvements are projected to elevate daily user interactions and foster stronger customer loyalty, setting a solid foundation for future growth.
